Cygwin 1.5.25-11 out of test. This is now the new release
version.
Changes since version 1.5.25-7:
- The main purpose of this release is to allow Cygwin to run correctly
on Windows 2008 Server. A change in the exception handling in Windows
2008 Server requires to change the exception handling in the Cygwin
DLL as well, otherwise an exception in a Cygwin process results in an
endless loop in the OS, taking 100% CPU. The problem has been
confirmed upstream to be a missing check in one of the OS DLLs.
The exception handling in Cygwin has been changed to allow working
on 2008 Server as well.

Then you can uninstall cygwin. All is working excluding listing of physical interfaces you can use in dynamips - I'm using only virtual labs now so for me it's not a problem. I recommend installing new WinPcap beta too - it supports windows 2008 already.

Hi Michal,
I have do the following steps:
1. copy the newest cygwin1.dll to simulator folder.
2. install the newest version wincpap 4.10 beta3.
but it still doesn't work, and give the following information. I am using win2008 RTM. The reason why to use win2008 only because I have try its version beta 3 runs dynamips more faster than winxp and win2003, and more convenience than linux.
Could you upload a working version cygwin1.dll and winpcap? Thanks!

Use dynamips-w2000 instead of dynamips-wxp. It will work for you. Apologize for so late answer, but i haven't internet access for some days.

Thanks so much, it does work by using the dynamips-w2000.exe. What is the different between the win2k and the xp version.
I can start .net file without a problem; however, telnet doesn't work with SecureCRT. I did disable Windows Firewall and enable the telne client under Windows 2008. Any idea what is missing?

Could you post your net file? I will check it on my system. What IP are you giving as the host IP in SecureCRT? 127.0.0.1 ? It should work, but the network IP must be enabled in windows firewall -> simply add dynamips-w2000 to exceptions on fw. My conf let me connect from my laptop to remote server with win2k8 using telnet.

Thanks, I attached my .net files and dynagen.ini
I installed SecureCRT in C:\Program Files\SecureCRT, and moved the file securecrt.vbs to the same folder.

My host computer's IP is 192.168.159.130, if I change localhost to 192.168.159.130 in the .net file and turn off firewall, I get a blue screen.

Hi meehow_g,
Can you be able to run Pemu on Windows 08?
In my case, I can start Pemu on Windows 08 with no problem; however, as soon as I type >start FW1 in Dynagen, it produces errors.

Gents,
Could you please upload the newest cygwin1.dll file? Trying to run Dynamips on Windows 2008 since last week.
Thanks.
