I am trying to run 8.42 on physical hardware. I am hoping this post can evolve into a How To Guide. DMZ is
DMZ, from your PM you said:
"You could try to create boot flash drive yourself - just use UNetBootin http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ to create USB image of any bootable ISO (CentOS 6 minimal for example). Then copy asa kernel/initrd-original to flash and change parameters in isolinux.cfg to point to new kernel."
I will be attempting this soon and replying with my results. Thanks. |

| My first question/problem is a linux question. I used CentOS Live CD to create the USB drive. I see there is an isolinux/isolinux.cfg and syslinux.cfg present on the USB. They both appear to be similar files. Do I need to alter both to boot the ASA kernel and initrd? I tried the isolinux.cfg and it not change the boot menu. |

| Thanks. What sub forum would be an appropriate place to work through finding the process? I can post there or the moderate can move this to the correct place. |

Seems that this forum is dead near the year or more - no administrative activities.
