Here is a smiple 3 router lab for practising static routes, default route, RIP and IGRP etc.

Network Topology:

Using 3600 series routers, works just fine.

Dynamips Lab code for .net file:

Code:

    [[ROUTER LAB_A]]
        model = 3640
        S0/0 = LAB_B S0/0

    [[router LAB_B]]
        model = 3640
        S0/1 = LAB_C S0/0

     [[router LAB_C]]
        model = 3640

Tasks:

1- Setup Ip addresses on required interfaces.
2- Try setting static routes on all 3 routers. (test with pinging from LAB_A to LAB_C and vice versa)
3- Remove static routes and establish default routing by "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 exit interface" test with ping.
4. Set up security on telnet ports and try getting into LAB_C router from LAB_A via telnetting one of the interfaces, pretty neat.

Note: for some reason I couldn't perform telnet <hostname> although hostnames were set up for all 3 routers. haven't performed on real routers yet, will check that out and see.

Play around...good for just a start up practise...nothing too complex.

Thanks.
