Regarding the dynamips I used two instances(the devices were divided something like 60/40). The topologies should be optimized at a maximum. All kind of linux processes that are not needed at the moment should also be stopped The topologies should be maximally clean anything that you do not need should not be in your .net file.
I did not used the build in Terminal Server instead I used another real router as a terminal server.
In general please consider that my employer has a good lab but even that I decided to stick on this wonderful initiative dynamips. The reason was that it has all the needed interfaces and you do not waste any time in cabling or sharing the devices with somebody else. I even think that at least the the IOS for 7200 and 3640 emulations work better than on the real HW.

There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE certification. Other professional certifications or training courses are not required. Instead, candidates must first pass a written qualification exam.
